It has taken awhile, but I have learned what foods make my blood sugar spike, how much insulin to take so I can still enjoy my favorite foods on occasion and although there have been some bumps along the way, I think I have a pretty good handle on things. White bread, french fries, pancakes (sadly) and white sugar = blood sugar spikers. But other things like pasta, pizza and tortillas, I can eat a small amount and be fine. For some reason though, Sam’s Club pizza gets me every single time. Yesterday, I had to go to Sam’s for a few things; 4 kids = buying almost everything in bulk, and the husband met me there for lunch.
The pizza looked SO good, so even though I knew better, that’s what I had.
A few hours later- I felt like I was dying. Stomach pains, nausea, headache, and just an overall feeling of – UGH. I spent the afternoon and evening alternating between the bathroom and the couch before crashing in bed shortly after the baby did.
I’m feeling much better this morning- and could it be I finally learned my lesson? I don’t know why, but it’s the only pizza that makes me like this every single time I eat it.
Baby decided to wake up at 5am and my alarm was going to go off at 6, so I’m up for the day. Every night I go to bed thinking it will be the night she sleeps all night, but no. She was up at 12, 3 and 5. Could be a very interesting day.
