Weekend Wrap Up

Back in October, my oldest daughter asked if I would coach her and her friends for the Battle of the Books. They had to read 7 books between October and February and know the books really well. Friday night there was a battle between the teams and they had to answer a total of 56 questions from the books.

They didn’t place in the top 3, but they had a great time anyway!

Afterwards we headed over to Culver’s for a fun treat. This turtle sundae was the perfect sweet ending to the night.

Saturday is such a blur, we were running around all over the place. Target, the mall, cleaning out bedrooms. Just a busy day all around. Karlie and Emma share a room and we pained it a few months ago, put in bunk beds and have just been piecing it together a little bit at a time. Karlie didn’t want a dresser, she loved the ideas of a shelf and bins, it turned out really cute!

Saturday night we met up with Spencer’s parents at Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner.

She worked on that crouton for a good 20 minutes, it was bigger than her mouth.

My go to meal is the parmesan crusted chicken with mashed potatoes. The best part is that the dish includes two chicken breasts, so I boxed up one so I can have it for lunch today.

This picture doesn’t do it justice, but the sun set was perfect on Saturday night!

Back in December, my starting plank time was a mere 30 seconds and it took everything to hold it for that long. Yesterday I started the day with a 20 minute cardio workout followed by an ab workout and then held a plank for 2 minutes! Boom shaka laka!

After church and naps yesterday we went to my Mom’s for our traditional Sunday dinner. My sister in law and I do a Garmin connect challenge every week for steps and she was beating us all yesterday and I was in dead last. We decided to walk 2.5 miles before dinner and then another 2.5 miles after dinner. I ended my day with my new steps in a day record. A few months ago, 5 miles would have KILLED me, but I barely broke a sweat. I’m so excited that I am finally seeing progress and am so excited for things to keep improving!

And here we are at the start of a new week. I’m ready! Have a great day!
