After waking up 3 different times with the baby last night, it was so nice (and needed!) to sleep an extra hour and a half this morning instead of waking up at 5 to work out.
Breakfast was powered by coconuts this morning.
In the mix was a handful of spinach, 1/2 banana, ice, 1 scoop Designer Whey Vanilla protein powder, 1 cup coconut milk and the whole container of Vita Coco.
After morning nap, I popped in a DVD and Emma just sat there mesmerized at first at what I was doing, and then she was playing around me and then at the end when I was doing floor ab work and push ups, decided it was a great time to climb on my back. I have to tell you that I could totally get used to this. No more waking up before the sun or staying up after everyone is in bed. Bye Bye Mom guilt, taking 30 minutes for myself didn’t hurt anything or anyone and thanks to baby gates, I knew everything would be fine. Mid morning is definitely my sweet spot in the day.
Sweaty selfie with mama.
Lunch was a combo of leftovers- chili dogs from last night and vegetable pasta salad that I made for lunches this week (recipe coming soon.)
Dinner is another recipe to come soon- Enchilada Casserole
After dinner, we all headed over to the track for a family walk. It was so awesome to see so many people in our neighborhood having the same idea. It is such a gorgeous night tonight.
It’s a school night, so we couldn’t stay very long before heading back to finish homework, showers and packing lunches for tomorrow, but I almost squeezed 2 miles in.
And the best part? It’s 7:30 and I’m not exhausted waiting to go to bed and counting down the minutes before I can go to bed. It will be nice to have a little alone time with the husband after the kids go to bed tonight.
so glad you got out there. Even with your sleepless night. That had to feel good!
Yes!!
Oh the baby sleepless nights! I so remember. Glad you took some time for you!
It’s getting ridiculous, she’s a year old! My older 3 were sleep champions.
Neither of mine were. You are lucky to have 75% good sleepers! LOL!
Sounds like a great day! Sometimes taking care of yourself and getting back to the basics is all you need. 🙂
Yes!!! THIS!! it took me a while to realize this but once it clicked it made life and my fitness SO MUCH EASIER. Ryan has yet to sleep through the night (haaaaaaalppp mee) so tbh waking up early is not an option, so I used to work out at night ir rushed during naps. Now I workout when he first wakes up from s nap and he’s in his jumper. If he gets fussy I take him out andhe crawls around but momma needs her time too. The best thing you can do for your child is give yourself a healthy lifestyle.
ahhhh, you get me!!! It has been a life changer!!!
Good for you for taking the time! I started a Piyo challenge with a friend and I am getting it in whenever I can, but it does not include getting up early, because that is something I am not good at!! Your food looks great too!
How are you liking Piyo?
I really like it a lot! It definitely feels like a workout without the jumping around. My body feels sore so I know it is working my muscles. I haven’t done all the workouts yet, but so far so good!
