Mom Duty Won Today

It was all fun and games this morning. Everyone got up and ready for school, had some breakfast

^finally found a use for all of the taco bell hot sauce packets- they are terrific hardboiled egg toppers

And then Emma took a long morning nap (which should have been my first clue something was wrong because that never happens anymore), we went out and ran some errands and came home for lunch.

…and then it happened. About 3.2 seconds after I snapped this picture, I heard Emma heaving and then throw up. Throw up everywhere. Don’t worry, no pictures. I’m a blogger, but I’m not a filthy animal.

After that she took a 3.5 hour nap and then we had to go pick up everyone from school, and then it happened again.

Gahhh- I hate throw up, but I hate cleaning it up even more. SO gross!!! At least my floors are disinfected now. The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent with a super meltdown crabby pants toddler who didn’t want to be held but didn’t want to be put down either.  Super fun.

The rage is strong in this one. After this last fit because I wouldn’t let her have the snack that the older kids were having, she climbed in my lap and 1 minute later.

So, my plans for a late afternoon workout went out the window and mom duty won. Did I beat myself up about it? Nope. With 4 kids, some days things happen and the best thing I can do is move forward and on to tomorrow. Where hopefully no one throws up.

Ugh I have so many memories of just randomly being struck with illness growing up…that hasn’t happened in YEARS (knock on wood) but that’s the worst. I’m so happy I had a caring mom during times like that and I’m sure you did such a good job being supermom too 🙂
