I hate when people label food as “good and bad.” When I used to work in an office, Monday mornings were like confessionals. “ OMG, I was so bad over the weekend, I had cupcakes, went out to eat, etc.” “Let’s just be bad for lunch and go out.” “Nope, not eating today, I’m being good.”
I honestly believe that all foods are 100% fine in moderation, like I tell my kids, there are always foods and sometimes foods. That being said, I have been making the sometimes foods in my life always foods and that train needs to de-rail. Pronto. 1. I don’t like the way I have been feeling lately eating like I have been and 2. I can’t make changes to my body until I change the way I’m eating.
I believe in an 90/10 rule. I try and eat as clean as possible (gahh, I hate that term, but it’s all I can think of right now), limit processed foods, lots of fruits and vegetables, water, limit sugar, and then when we do go out to eat (which, when you have 4 kids isn’t all that often), splurging a bit and getting things I don’t make at home.
This morning started off with 2 eggs that were supposed to be dippy, but if you’ve ever cooked with a toddler, well…those eggs were well done.
washed down with my favorite pre-workout drink, sparkling water mixed with Spark.
Today’s workout was Turbo Jam’s Turbo Sculpt. It’s 40 minutes long and by the end, my legs and arms were jello. You’re supposed to use light weights because it’s a million reps, it seems easy and all fun and games at first and then you get to the end and you realize you got your butt handed to you on a platter.
Lunch was a mish mash of things. I made a batch of brown rice yesterday, but instead of my typical seasonings, I added in a packet of taco seasoning instead. Best decision ever! I topped it with black beans and avocado.
I’m thinking of making this again tomorrow, but with some romaine lettuce thrown in the mix as well.
…and that appears to be the end of my meal documentation for the day. Once upon a time, I would have never published this because I didn’t have every meal documented. Ehh. Life happens and it’s all about choices.
