About Jen

My story begins 9 years ago, I was a new stay at home mom. I had 3 kids and was just on the way back to living a healthy life and losing weight again and working out again. In April 2010, my world crumbled around me as I knew it. My life was shattered. My Dad was killed in a head on collision and to say I was devastated is an understatement. I was in the darkest time of my life and hated everything. I was miserable and wanted everyone to be miserable with me. I no longer saw a point in making plans, working for the future or anything really, because it could all be taken away in the blink of an eye.

As my kids grew older, my path in life also changed. I knew I wasn’t going to be a stay at home mom forever, but I also wasn’t sure when that chapter was going to end either. In early 2018, I decided that I was going to go back to school and started classes to become a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM. As I started studying through the summer, I also got serious about my own training and weight loss struggles. In August, I was at a personal training session with two of my sister in laws and the trainer asked if I already had a job lined up after I passed my test. Long story short, I was offered the job that day contingent on my passing the test ( that I had scheduled for early October).

I ended up failing that test by 1 point. I let myself have a pity party for about a week, then I rescheduled the test and studied even harder and I passed on December 1, 2018
I am now a personal trainer and primarily I work at the gym where I went to high school (20+ years ago) and I’m also working on building my online training programs and website up as well.

I am still on my own journey, but my life has made a complete One 80 since I started working again. I’m even starting to train for a marathon later this year!

Random question – but do you have a beachbody coach? If you don’t I’d love to have you in my challenge group that starts next Monday! It’s just a support/accountability group of positive, healthy-minded women!
